Our vision is to worship God with the entire body through movement in order to:
- praise Him with our whole selves
- lead God’s people into worship
- share the gifts God has given us with others
practical guidelines
What does the dance ministry do? What is expected? The following guidelines will help you determine if you are a full participant in the dance ministry of VCFP or if you would like to be.
To prepare us as a TEAM to worship and to lead God’s people in worship we:
- pray
- confess to God anything that keeps us from Him
- listen to the Holy Spirit
- attend and participate in at least three Monday night worship dance meetings per month
- attend Monday night practice or another dance class the week before if we would like to lead the team on Sunday morning
- get plenty of sleep, food, and water so that our bodies are prepared for worship on Sunday morning
- come dressed appropriately in modest, loose clothing in order to not draw attention to ourselves, but to direct people’s attention to worshiping God
To prepare us as a TEAM to expand God’s kingdom with movement we:
- pray
- experience the Bible through personal or group study
- attend regular dance classes to maintain and improve flexibility, strength, and endurance
- attend worship dance conferences to gain further insights into worship dance in the church and how it can be used to expand His kingdom
- attend dance worship conferences, training, or other churches where dance is a part of worship to experience new ideas and spark creativity
- listen to and share songs with the group that could be used in our ministry
- attend all practices and be responsible for learning the moves before an upcoming performance
- prepare and share dance training with the dance team before sharing them with others so that we may receive encouraging feedback and practice

when & where
The dance ministry is open to adults and
high schoolers. You must have a heart for worship and desire to
use movement in worship. You do NOT need any formal dance training
to participate on Monday evenings. However, group pieces that are
shared with the congregation MAY be limited to experienced dancers.
We meet every Monday evening from
6:00 - 7:30pm at the Zohar dance studio at Cubberley
Community Center, building L, room 4 (North Entrance). The dance ministry is on a break until September. Please
come in comfortable, loose clothing. No special shoes are needed.
There will be a time for personal worship, prayer, group movement,
and choreography.
To be considered as part
of the dance ministry team, please check "Practical Guidelines
for the Dance Ministry" listed above.
